Sewing Pattern Making

Sewing Pattern Making

The Higher Metn Artisan conducted two courses in Sewing Pattern Making in collaboration with local entities, these courses were delivered by the specialist Mrs. Adele Nowaihed.
-The first course took place in the town of Deir El Harf in Mount Lebanon, in collaboration with the Mar Youssef Deir El Harf Medical Clinic and Deir El Harf Sports Club
-The second course was held in the town of Hammana in Mount Lebanon, in collaboration with the Caritas Lebanon Higher Metn Region center in Hammana

We commend the 15 participants for their dedication and keenness to learn and master the craft.

The training course on the sewing pattern making was presented, given its significance and for the following reasons

Firstly, a large group of individuals in the Higher Metn region expressed their desire to learn the fundamentals of tailoring, which also provided an opportunity for fashion design enthusiasts to acquaint themselves with the basics of pattern making.

Secondly, some individuals in the Higher Metn region expressed their interest in learning a trade that could provide them with a source of income, given the difficult living conditions facing citizens

Thirdly, it is our responsibility at the Higher Metn Artisan to equip individuals with a trade and provide professional activities and training in pursuit of one of our founding goals

The course covered the fundamental principle of correctly taking measurements and drawing patterns prior to cutting the fabric. The training focused on creating three garments: a blouse, a skirt, and a dress.

We hope to offer these courses in the future, with the goal of reaching as many individuals as possible and providing them with valuable knowledge and practical skills.
