A Series of Training Courses on

Sewing Principles

Sewing Principles

Given the significance of the topic and the need in light of the deteriorating living conditions, it is essential for the homemaker to possess some skills in managing her family's expenses at a minimum level, as long as the current economic crisis persists and continues to rapidly decline.

Repairing clothes and fabrics at home has become a necessity and a practical skill to have in household management.

The experienced and specialized Instructor Mrs. Adele Nowaihed volunteered to provide training and supervision in all training courses except for the second course, which was presented by the donor Ms. Samiha Al-Banna in Khreibeh Al-Meten.

We are proud of the 45 participants who took part in these courses.

Goals:

A sewing fundamentals course does not necessarily mean designing expensive fashion creations and innovations.

The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and empower housewives in maintaining a decent appearance for their family's clothing and everything related to household fabrics such as clothes, bed sheets, curtains, and more.

Therefore, it is a way to assist housewives in managing their family's basic needs and finances by providing them with the skills to repair and maintain their clothes and household fabrics in a way that saves money and prolongs their usefulness and appearance.

The courses on basic sewing principles were provided in several towns in Mount Lebanon and started in May from the town of Qarnayel, ending in October 2022 in the town of Deir Al Harf. Professional collaboration was established with various active entities in these towns, and we appreciate their support and cooperation, including:

  • Qarnayel Official High School - Qarnayel.
  • Samihah Al-Banna Sewing Workshop - Khreibet Al-Metn.
  • United Hands Association - Al-Qariyah Town.
  • Ladies of Arsoun Charitable Association - Arsoun Town.
  • Caritas Lebanon Higher Metn Region -Hammana Center.
  • Mar Youssef Medical Clinic - Deir el Harf.
